It began with one plumber from Northern Ireland.
He arrived in 1993 and opened his own shop five years later. It is twenty licensed plumbers now, still family owned, still working out of Pacifica.
Nigel Mulgrew came to the San Francisco Bay Area from Northern Ireland in 1993. In 1998, with a passion for the trade and the intention to run his own shop, he founded Nigel Mulgrew Plumbing, Inc.
It has grown into a team of twenty plumbers, family owned, working out of Pacifica and serving San Francisco, San Mateo and the communities around them. Thousands of homes and businesses have been served in that time.
The work runs from one fixture to a whole home. Fixture installations sit between $2,000 and $50,000, most of them custom pieces from the European fixture houses, and that is the half of the trade people see. The other half is rough-in, repiping and laterals, and the mechanical rooms nobody photographs.
We speak English and Spanish, and wherever the schedule allows we send the same people back to the same homes. A crew that has been in before does not need the tour, and it does not learn your building on your time. On Exclusive membership, the same technician is assigned year after year.

CSLB License #746000 is a public record. Looking it up on the state board’s site takes about a minute and will show you the license is active, and that the bond and the workers’ compensation behind it are in place.

What we are strict about.
The parts nobody sees
Nothing is left unchecked on an installation, a repair or a replacement. What is behind the wall decides how long what is in front of it lasts.
Communication that answers
A person picks up, and a service call gets a verbal estimate when you book it rather than a number afterwards. Same-day appointments where the day allows.
The material decides
Copper, galvanized steel, PEX and cast iron all age differently in this ground, and a custom European fixture is far less forgiving than a builder's faucet. We choose for the building and tell you why.
Licensed, bonded and insured
CSLB License #746000, and since 1998 there is very little in a Bay Area home we have not already seen and put right.
