Accessibility Statement
Nigel Mulgrew Plumbing, Inc. wants this site to be usable by everyone who needs a plumber, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard alone, magnification, or a phone in bright sunlight.
The standard we build to
We hold this site to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. That is the level referenced by public bodies in the United States, and it is the level we test against before anything ships.
What that means here
- Text is 16px or larger, everywhere, including labels and captions.
- Contrast is computed against the color behind the text, including over photographs, rather than judged by eye.
- Everything can be operated from a keyboard, and the focused element is always visibly outlined.
- A skip link jumps past the navigation to the page content.
- Form fields carry real labels, errors are announced rather than only colored, and no field depends on color alone.
- Images that carry meaning have alt text, and images that are decoration are hidden from screen readers instead of described.
- Motion is reduced to nothing when your system asks for less of it.
What we know is imperfect
The map on the contact page is embedded from Google and we do not control what it does inside its frame. The address, the hours and the phone number are printed as text beside it, so nothing on that page depends on the map.
Telling us about a problem
If any part of this site gets in your way, call (415) 857-9980, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, or send a service request describing what happened and the page it happened on. We will fix what we can, tell you plainly what we cannot, and give you the information another way in the meantime.
